Gary Maclean - Before - House Repair and Reno
Getting Rid of The Galvanized Water Lines
A project that I have been completing with a client. We started working on repairing some piping while Gary was doing some window replacing and general getting ready for a new tenant or owner and we ended up working on replacing the old galvanized water lines, from the water meter to the hot water tank all the way to a valve at each plumbing fixture.
I guess sometimes a handyman repair job can quickly turn into the client deciding to replace more and more material and then it becomes a renovation. While getting the bathroom ready for a new toilet and sink we discovered that we had much cracked cast iron piping that was causing an awful sewer odor smell in the house, so, we also found the need to replace some of the drainage piping in order to repair many parts of a worn out plumbing vent stack.
The really kewl thing I like about this handyman home repair job is the fact that the claw foot tub is staying and getting new faucet and curtain hardware. Have a look at the before pictures and you will quickly see why this job went from repair to almost a renovation.
